Allotments
Information about the Allotments in Harpole Village.
Harpole Parish Council is proud to offer a welcoming and well-maintained allotment site for local residents for over the past 100 years! Renting an allotment provides far more than just a space to garden—it offers an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, stay active, and become part of a friendly and supportive community.
Whether you are an experienced gardener or completely new to growing your own produce, our allotments are open to people of all ages and abilities. Plot holders benefit from a secure environment where they can cultivate fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables, share knowledge, and build lasting friendships. An allotment is the perfect place to unwind, connect with nature, and take pride in producing your own homegrown food.
On Harpole Allotments we have a team of volunteers who run the Allotment Association, providing support and guidance to our plot holders.
An AGM will be called in June 2026 to re-elect a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasure and community Members depending on how many volunteers put themselves forwards.

I took on an allotment last year, starting with a 5 pole, very quickly changing up to a 10 pole!
I absolutely love growing my veg, it is really therapeutic and if people think it’s just for old people they are so wrong! My grandsons say “the carrots are so carroty”. Its my happy place.

I took my allotment on his year, following a challenging time in my personal life. We have been welcomed with nothing but smiles and encouragement. My young children and I attend to our allotment normally twice a week and every time we will bump into people, chat, and even support us on our plot. We are very grateful for the chance to grow our own, and for my children to learn out the process of farm to fork. Hopefully we will be a plot holder for many many years to come!
