Harpole – Harlestone Park
COMING SOON Defibrillator and Bleed Kit Within Harlestone Park
Harpole Parish Council Installs New Defibrillators and Bleed Control Kits
COMING SOON – WILL BE INSTALLED END OF JULY/AUGUST
Harpole Parish Council is pleased to announce the installation of new public-access defibrillators and emergency bleed control kits across the parish, helping to ensure that life-saving equipment is available to residents and visitors when it is needed most.
These devices have been installed as part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to improving community safety and supporting emergency response within Harpole.
Why These Installations Matter
In a medical emergency, every minute counts. Early access to a defibrillator can significantly improve the chances of survival for someone experiencing a cardiac arrest, while bleed control kits provide essential equipment that can help manage severe bleeding until emergency services arrive.
The new equipment is designed to be accessible, easy to use, and available to members of the public in an emergency. Defibrillators provide clear spoken instructions, guiding users through the process step by step, and bleed kits contain specialist items such as trauma dressings, tourniquets and protective equipment.
Location
The newly installed defibrillator and bleed control kit is located on:
- Fleetland Way
Residents are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the locations of their nearest units.
What To Do In An Emergency
If you encounter a medical emergency:
- Call 999 immediately.
- The emergency operator will provide guidance and, if appropriate, direct you to the nearest defibrillator or bleed control kit.
- Follow the instructions provided by the call handler and the equipment itself.
- Continue to assist the casualty until professional help arrives.
