When the primary school moved into new premises at the beginning of the seventies, the old Victorian school was converted into a village hall and became known as Harpole Old School Hall. Over the years the hall has been refurbished and upgraded, most recently with newly refurbished kitchen, toilets, disabled access and all facilities (including nappy changing), also new windows and doors.

Harpole Old School Hall is held in Trust for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Harpole, and the neighbourhood in the County of Northamptonshire.

Its use is for meetings, education, recreation and leisure occupations with the object of improving the conditions of life in the above area of benefit.

The Charity:

The Old School Hall is a registered charity and is vested with the Official Custodian of Charities. The Management Committee (Trustees) are responsible for the running of the organisation.

The Trustees:

These consist of elected, representative, and co-opted members.

Meetings are held 6-8 weekly approximately, with an AGM in March or April each year. Interested members of the public, from the Parish and Neighbourhood, are welcome at all the meetings.

The Property:

The building is held in Trust using the 1976 Trust Deed Constitution. The Parish Council are custodian Trustees however the overall management and responsibilities lay with the elected Trustees of the Old School Hall Management Committee. (OSHMC).

The OSHMC pays the Methodist Chapel opposite a peppercorn rent for use of their Car Park when this does not clash with a service taking place.

There are two rooms available for hire 7 days a week (but finish by 11.00p.m.) and depending on other bookings.

The Jubilee Room is the main hall and can be hired and can accommodate 80 seated guests.

The School Room, although partially used by the pre-school during the day, is available for hire and can accommodate 60 seated guests.

These rates apply from 1 April 2018. All bookings must include set-up and clear-up time. We will be putting bookings back to back so to make the maximum use of our facilities.
